FAQ

Why should I get my dog or cat groomed?

Grooming is about maintaining both your pet’s physical health as well as their appearance. Brushing is extremely beneficial for all kinds of animals no matter what breed they are. It helps to remove dead hair, dirt, and dandruff. Regular brushing also helps to bring out the natural oils in the fur. As you brush, the natural oils are spread all over the fur giving the coat a healthy sheen. Another benefit of grooming is that it allows for your pet to be checked for any abnormalities. This includes skin problems such as: ticks, fleas and dry patches. We can also help detect issues with their nails, teeth, ears, and eyes. When found at an early stage, these problems can be treated right away by your Veterinarian.

How old does my pet have to be?

You can begin grooming your pet as young as 12-16 weeks old, dependent on their vaccine status.

Can I bring my own shampoo?

Yes, while we do bathe all pets in an Aloe and Oatmeal shampoo, you are welcome to bring your own if your Veterinarian prescribes a medicated shampoo or you have a personal preference.

Do you groom cats?

Yes, we offer Bath & Brush outs and Full Service Grooms for cats.

How long does it take?

We estimate about 4 hours but every pet is an individual, some may take longer, some may be shorter. We ask for your patience and will call you as soon as they're finished.

How often should my pet be groomed?

How often your dog or cat should be groomed really depends on the breed, lifestyle, and owner preference. Feel free to discuss and ask your groomer for a grooming schedule recommendation.

My dog has some matting, will there be any additional fees?

Depending on the size, area, and condition of the hair, there may be additional fees as the groomer has to try and work out any matting prior to any clipping, and this takes extra time, care, and tools to do so. Therefore the groomer can and will access the condition with you in order to give an estimate when you come in for the appointment.

Are there any other potential fees?

Any extra fees are accessed and priced out by the groomer as they're working on your pet, therefore are typically at the groomers discretion. An example of some potential fees are: de-matting, extra handling, extra-trimming, and so forth. Your groomer can discuss and access the pet prior to starting the groom to give you an estimate, but prices are finalized at completion of the groom. If you have any specific concerns please discuss these with your groomer at drop-off prior to the start of the groom.

How much does a grooming appointment cost?

Price varies dependent on breed, hair type/length, size, pet temperament, and so forth. Please feel free to call for an estimate but prices are finalized at appointment by the groomer and may be subject to change as the pet is being worked on.

Can my dog or cat be groomed while in boarding or at Romp 'N' Play?

Yes, we are able to do both services, however grooming still needs to be scheduled appropriately with their boarding or Romp 'N' Play reservation.

Are you accepting poodles and doodles?

We are open and accepting all breeds of dogs, but we do specifically schedule full grooms for our poodles and doodles (or any particularly large or hairy breeds) Tuesday through Friday, for 8AM drop-offs only.
